Corporate Water Efficiency
 Simplified

The cost of doing nothing is high.
The cost of doing the wrong thing is higher.

Our standardized formula and tools were refined inside of Fortune 500 companies.
We put organizations on the fastest most cost effective path to optimize water efficiency.

Gain control, avoid costs, become efficient.

Water efficiency isn’t achieved in one fell swoop. It is gained by helping the people who operate properties connect simple, reproducible improvements to their existing habits and routines.  For this reason, our standardized formula delivers the fastest, simplest process and procedure insights first.  Fast, inexpensive success makes it easier for corporate executives and their operations to consider next steps in context of their situation without wasting time, money, or professional credibility.

After 30 years of refinement, we have standardized what works into a four step formula that is easy to start, clear on what should be done and knowledgeable on how best to do it.

Success is a path

Whether you need to make sense of water across your property portfolio,  a quick start to demonstrate success at key properties,  or a map of a complete rollout solution,  knowing what should be done and why matters.  We converted decades of hands on work and technology development into a formula that makes it easy for organizations to see how results are captured, operational success is supported and water efficiency outcomes last.

Step 1 is a high value low cost way for organizations to capture quick successes while clarifying their best path forward.  Subsequent steps depend on what makes sense for the organization.

Step 1:
Do fast easy first.

This is a structured initial consult that delivers useful, deployable recommendations while mapping out the likely vulnerabilities and opportunities for eliminating the cost, damage and environmental impact of water waste across the organization.

As part of Step 1  we provide  organizations:
1)  A high level map of water related costs and vulnerabilities in context of the organizations portfolio.
2)  recommendations the organization can implement immediately.
3) Clarity on what should be done next and how best to do it - a path forward that considers interdependencies and stands up to multi-stakeholder review.

Step 2:
Property Success

Efficiency and cost avoidance happen when the people who operate properties are successful at avoiding waste.  In this step, we adapt the formula to fit cleanly into the existing practices at a few key properties so water efficiency is easy enough to become part of the  normal daily habit.  Once the operational fit is honed options for  integrating measurement and reporting technology (IoT, digitization, etc.) become easy to evaluate and less costly.

During Step 2,  The Hydro-care Team works directly with the Client's team to:
  1. Assess water use and vulnerabilities at a few key properties.
  2. Provide SOP's that set clear expectations for service providers and staff (so it is easy for management to support success).
  3. Identify the best way to integrate measurement and reporting into current reporting systems.
  4. Define what success looks like for the property (organization) and structure reporting and KPI’s to help guide progress.
  5. Capture insights and refinements to guide a phased rollout across other properties. (Step 3).

Step 3:
Expand  Success

Deploy the standardized refinements made in Steps 1 and 2 at properties where it makes sense to gain control. Convert site specific measurement and reporting into organizational level reports and routines that connect the front line to the executive suite.

Collaborate with client's team to fold lessons learned into the companies avoided cost payback model.

During Expand Success Implementation, the Hydro-care Team works with the organization to integrate the tools, reporting and automation needed to support all client properties.

Common features include:
  1. A rollout deployment plan
  2. Standardization of expectations for service providers and staff.
  3. Advanced measurement and reporting.
  4. Development of internal experts
  5. Technical support as needed.

Step 4 - Optimize Everywhere:

Center For Water Management Excellence TM program

For organizations that want to be recognized as leaders in water efficiency, integrating a Hydro-care Center For Water Management Excellence tm provides an internal core competency that drives significant additional savings while demonstrating the organization’s commitment to delivering on a comprehensive set of sustainability promises.

Contracted as an ongoing Hydro-care service or integrated as a Hydro-care supported department inside of an organization, a Center For Water Management Excellence tm, becomes the go to resource for efficiency know-how and business analysis needed to drive continuous ongoing savings across property portfolios and jurisdictions.

Common features include:

a) Standardized training and certification for internal experts.

b) Standard Operating Procedures for service providers and internal staff.

c) Level three technical support for leak detection, problem investigation and resolution.

d) Best in class knowledge base for commercial, industrial and institutional sector water waste control.

e) Best practice management for controlling the cost and compliance issues associated with excess water contamination, grease interceptor management, contamination surcharges (BOD, TSS, Fat/oil/grease), etc.

f) Scope 2 supply chain optimization protocols

g) “Design Right” Value Engineering support ensures that new construction planning benefits from decades of lessons learned on how to avoid unnecessary expenses and enable efficient water waste control through design.

h) Business and water efficiency consulting with economic and impact analysis.
